Beauty uses of Salt

1.        Salt is an important ingredient in your DIY beach waves hairspray;
2.        Pour in your bath a cup of salt for a better detox;
3.        After the bath you can use salt as a scrub, rubbing gently your arms and legs, exfoliating and improving the circulation;
4.        Instead of toothpaste use salt, which will whiten your teeth in a matter of seconds;
5.        Adding salt in olive oil will make a great face exfoliator;
6.        But before that, you can boil water and add salt in it, and steam your face for 15 minutes to open your pores;
7.        Rinse your mouth with a mixture of salt and baking soda for neutralization of your mouth PH;
8.        Rub your scalp with salt before washing to treat dandruff;
9.        Applying pads soaked in salty water on your puffy eyes for 10 minutes will reduce the puffiness;
10.        Soak your feet in salted water to relieve the pain of a long day on heels.

 

The benefits of marigold cream

First of all this cream is a great nourishing and moisturizing product.

It can be used to heal skin wounds.

Marigold cream is a 100% natural product, which only contains marigold extract, petroleum jelly, bees wax, and eventually lavender oil.  This cream stimulates the process of cellular development of the skin, that being a very good reason to add this product to our beauty kit.

It has a very greasy texture, so if you have an oily skin you shouldn’t use it on your face. The cream penetrates quickly your skin and it moisturizes pretty good. Because of the texture you only need to apply a small amount and rub it well.

Marigold cream it’s highly recommended for dry skin and, in winter, for every type of skin.

Use it like a lip balm, hand cream, foot cream, face cream,  wound treatment, scar treatment, as an acne treatment and any other face problems, it makes an anti-bacterial shield which will cure. Apply it also on fire burns and sunburns.

Your baby can benefit from it too, because this will help cure his diaper rashes. Just apply a small amount on his skin, gently rub it in and let it breathe for half an hour.

What’s on my nightstand!

I always have 4 tings on my nightstand:

1 lip balm

1 hand cream

1 foot cream

1 marigold cream

The lip balm, which won a special place on my list, is Vichy Aqualia Thermal. I really love this one, because it has ingredients like glycerin, castor seed, and Shea butter. All of them are key notes in the moisturizing and nourishing process of my lips.

My go-to hand cream these days is Nivea express care, for normal to very dry skin. It has a non-greasy formula with sea minerals, which is absorbed very easily into your skin. The results are visible right away and they last a pretty long time.

Most of the time I use for my feet Vaseline, but when I don’t feel like putting puffy socks for the night I apply Yves Rocher Beauté des pieds, a nourishing foot cream with organic lavender . It smells great if you’re into lavender, it is absorbed fast, and leaves your feet smooth and moisturized.

My marigold cream is really a beauty wonder-product, but in this case I use it for very dry skin patches, hands, feet, face. It really depends on my need. The uses of marigold cream will make a new post on Friday. Keep in touch!

Wonder product: Greek Yogurt

First of all we need to establish the difference between Greek yogurt and regular yogurt.

The making process is different. The Greek yogurt is strained of the whey, the watery part of the milk, until it becomes really thick and creamy. Because of that process, in composition we can find less sugar, carbohydrates but more protein, which gives a fullness feeling, as opposed to the same amount of regular yogurt, which leaves you feeling hungry. So this is an amazing asset to your diet!

The beauty parts:

This is an important ingredient for your hair masks because, massaged into the scalp, the Greek yogurt moisturizes and eliminates the dandruff after only 20 minutes.

Put Greek yogurt on your sunburns; the zinc helps calming the pain and cools the area.

The lactic acid in the yogurt helps moisturizing your skin. Apply it on the skin and wash it off after 20 minutes.

This wonder product banishes the acne after only 30 minutes on your face. But make it a regular thing for better results.

Add in it 1 tbs. honey and rub the mixture on your hands. This will moisturize them, leaving your hands feeling smooth and looking younger.

Use it in combination with grounded walnuts on your feet, as a scrub, relieving dry patches and calluses and moisturizing them at the same time.

When one of my beauty products is finished, I find myself mixing a “magic pot” for my needs and almost every time it includes Greek yogurt. If I still have my beauty products, the “magic pot” will be containing a mixture of Greek yogurt and banana, which will cure my soul and work for my beauty from the inside !

Schick (Wilkinson Sword) Intuition razor

Schick (Wilkinson Sword) Intuition razor is one of my acquisitions from last summer. I was desperate to have smooth legs for the skirt season, so I bought it. I think it is a little expensive (9 euro), also the shaver heads are a little bit pricy (15 euro for 3 pieces).

Enough with the financial part! Let’s talk about the product. Basically it’s a 4 bladed razor with a bar of soap around it. The soap smells really nice, and I’m amazed how smooth it leaves the skin. You can also see a difference when you are shaving; you get less irritated than with the usual razor and soap. After the operation I really don’t need any body moisturizer because the soap has made a pretty good job.

The bad part is, that because the razor is so big, it’s not very flexible and it’s quite hard to shave some specific parts of your body. That’s a big, big minus for it. Oh…and another thing….I have never cut myself when shaving but with this blade I did so 3 or 4 times! I think because the soap leaves the area so slippery, and I am in a hurry, I simply go with the blade in a wrong direction and end up with little cuts on my legs. Thank god they are small and you cannot see them!

Ok….so the pros:

Smells nice, shaves really good, leaves the skin impeccable and really smooth

The cons:

Easy to cut yourself (accidentally!!!), too big for some areas, and too big in general; if you’re travelling and you haven’t got enough place, you can end up without your razor in foreign countries.

What depilation technique should we use at home?

 

For the legs: cold wax

You must exfoliate your legs 2 days in a row for the best results. Use a body scrub or a loofah. Your legs will remain smooth up to 3 weeks and on a long term the hair will become weaker and rare.

If you choose the shaving method keep in mind to shave your legs at the end of the day, after a hot shower. After your pores will open up, use a new and sharp razor blade with a moisturizing soap, oil or shaving mousse.  When you’re done, spray yourself with cold water so your pores will close up. Depending on your hair growth this will resist up to 5 days/a week, but it will thicken your hair.

For your axilla and intimate area use depilatory cream.

Shaving cream has a nasty smell, but will be gentle on your skin and it will protect it. It will keep your skin hairless up to a week and a half. When this method is used regularly your hair will become rare.

The Nail Treatment- Miracle Repair 7

L’oréal La Manicure Miracle Repair 7 serum

I bought this from my local drugstore because I had very damaged nails, without shine and strength. It offers:

1. Base protection
2. Clarity
3. Strength
4. Fast growth
5. Smoothness
6. Shininess
7. Intensive care

This one promised the repair of my poor nails, used as base coat or as daily treatment. I used to wear French manicure every day, so I stopped for 3 weeks and applied the Miracle Repair 7 as a treatment.

The first week my nails were shiny, but they were very weak and one by one they started breaking until I lost all of my long, beautiful nails.  I didn’t stop the treatment despite how creepy the result was.

But after 2 weeks they gained strength and by the 3^rd week I could see how fast they started growing.

After 3 weeks I stopped the daily treatment and began wearing my French manicure again with Miracle Repair 7 as a base coat. I am pleased with the protection that this one offers to my nails.

I don’t think I will buy another one though. The price is a bit high, about 7 euros, for a quantity that small, 5 ml.
